On the early Martyrs...

If I die for any faith, let it be for the Catholic Faith for I have been told I would make a good protestant but to be a good protestant would mean to deny the early church martyrs and that would mean I must also deny the deaths by which they testified: being sawed in half, burned alive, tortured, starved to death, thrown to lions, ripped apart by devices, boiled, beheaded. And the Lord has shown me the holy Martyrs, arms upraised and singing songs to the Triune Holy One, whose robes were made of Light, the Light that indeed comes from the Lamb Who sits on the Throne of the Golden City, the House of the Most High God, which the Lord also has shown me, but the Church is the beacon through which that Light shines. And so that is the Church I want to die for, the Catholic Church, for many will be shocked when they die that that is the Church they denied.
